Take the first step on the journey to having transformative conversations on Race, Healing & Faith

Be The Bridge Foundations is a six week, facilitated group course created for those who identify and experience the world as a White person. This is the first step in Be The Bridge’s transformational pathway toward becoming a Bridge Builder, which includes doing the preliminary and necessary work of self-reflection and learning key concepts. Facilitators will guide conversations on the Bible and race, how to build bridges sustainably, barriers to healthy bridge building, and the white supremacy historical timeline.

The Foundations course is designed specifically for the white-identifying individuals. While you are participating in Foundations at Christ Church, there will be BIPOC brothers and sisters in Christ participating in BIPOC 1.0 at Mosaic Church. Both courses serve as the first critical step toward becoming a Bridge Builder, which includes doing the preliminary and necessary work of learning and self-reflection. No matter where you are on the journey of learning about race, racism, and racial reconciliation, these courses are informative to all and beneficial for those of us who desire to become bridge-builders. 

After these courses are completed, participants from each course will come together to form a Be The Bridge Community Group to complete Building Bridges: A 10-Session Blueprint for the Collective Journey Toward Racial Reconciliation. This will be scheduled at a to-be-determined date.

Christ Church is willing to host the Foundations course again in 2026 for interested members who missed the 2025 offerings

The Foundations course is designed specifically for the white-identifying individuals. While you are participating in Foundations at Christ Church, there will be BIPOC brothers and sisters in Christ participating in BIPOC 1.0 at Mosaic Church. Both courses serve as the first critical step toward becoming a Bridge Builder, which includes doing the preliminary and necessary work of learning and self-reflection. No matter where you are on the journey of learning about race, racism, and racial reconciliation, these courses are informative to all and beneficial for those of us who desire to become bridge-builders. In addition, these pre-requisite courses prepare individuals before entering the follow-on course in which all racial/ethnic groups are participating. After these courses are completed, participants from each course will come together to form a Be The Bridge Community Group to complete Building Bridges: A 10-Session Blueprint for the Collective Journey Toward Racial Reconciliation. This will be scheduled at a to-be-determined date.  

Black People, Indigenous People, and People of Color - This term may be foreign to many. It is another iteration of the term "people of color" that seeks to honor and acknowledge the unique history and experience with race, colonialism, and enslavement that Black and Indigenous people have in America. However, it remains insufficient in fully representing the myriad of people groups and identities that fall under the umbrella of "people of color." With these limitations in mind, Be The Bridge chose to use this term as a simple placeholder when speaking about us all. BIPOC 1.0 is designed specifically for those who identify and experience the world as a person of color (non-white identifying individuals). The course consists of six sessions led by a facilitator and includes homework. 

Yes, non-members and those who are not Christian can register to participate. While the content will include Bible scripture and discussions about one's relationship with God, we welcome those outside of the Christian community to engage in the topic of racial reconciliation.
