One God, The Father, Almighty
When you were a child, who was the strongest person you knew? Maybe it was your dad or mom — someone who could lift heavy things, fix what was broken, or make you feel safe. I can remember as a kid watching my dad carry something heavy — maybe a big box or a piece of furniture — and thinking, “Wow, he can do anything.” But what struck me even more was how that same strength could be gentle — the same hands that could carry the heavy load could also pick me up when I fell. That’s what we mean when we say: “We believe in one God, the Father Almighty.” God is almighty — nothing in heaven or earth is beyond His power. And yet He is also Father — deeply personal, relational, caring.
This week, we explore that tension — and beauty — of a God who is both infinitely great and intimately near.
