Tour Our Facility

Our preschool and childcare classrooms are some of the largest, self-contained rooms in the area. Developmentally appropriate learning centers are established to foster a love of learning and exploration! Materials are related to subject, purpose, and projected skill level.

Call 937-293-1617 or Email preschoolchildcare@christumc.org to schedule your tour today!

Specific areas in our classrooms include:

  • Dramatic Play
  • Reading
  • Art
  • Building
  • Writing
  • Math and Manipulatives
  • Science and Discovery
  • Safe Place (Conscious Discipline)

Our classroom centers and spaces are individualized to align with our curriculum and meet the varying needs of the children. Interest Areas are set-up to support children’s development in the areas of language, art, math and manipulatives, literacy, science and technology, gross and fine motor skills, and social-emotional skills.

Our indoor Body Management room is a gross motor center that focuses on engaging children in activities designed to enhance gross motor skills of balance, coordination, agility and strength. A qualified instructor meets weekly with each Preschool class through our Body Management Enrichment Program. Her goal is to encourage, motivate, and teach children how to move their bodies and that movement is fun! Equipment includes four-wheeled scooter boards, hula hoops, jump ropes, variety of balls, flying disks, tricycles, and more.

Our playground was created and built with developmentally appropriate design in a large, shaded, enclosed and secure area. The playground is utilized year-round (weather permitting) for children 6 weeks of age through Kindergarten age. Our outdoor play space offers something for every child: climbing equipment, slides, tire swing, learning gazebo, sandboxes, circle cycle, balance beam, tunnels and more.

Our optional Godly Play program has two separate classrooms providing a special location for the spiritual activities incorporated into this program. We refer to the classrooms as the “Temple Rooms” because it transports the children back to Biblical times and is especially designed for Preschool worship and activity times.

Our Childcare program provides continuous, high quality care and education for young children (6 weeks through 5 years) on a Full Time, Part Time, and Drop-In basis. All classrooms implement weekly lesson plans and individualized child plans by utilizing The Creative Curriculum. Each classroom organizes a flexible daily schedule to accommodate the interests and needs of children in their care. Classroom layouts are also individualized and arranged in a way that appropriately supports children’s development.
